Kirjoittaja innostui kovasti Caminosta nähtyään Matkapassin jakson jossa kyseisellä reitillä vaellettiin. Sittemmin toistaiseksi on kertrynyt kokemusta viideltä kerralta Manner- Espanjan Camino de Santiago- reiteillä. Matkat on olleet haastavia mutta antoisia eikä kommelluksiltakaan ole aina vältytty.
