Kalevalan alkusanat / Prologue of Kalevala / Prologus Kalevalanus brings the motif of Finland's national epic to small male and mixed choir settings.

This work for small male chorus (TB) and full mixed chorus (SATB) is based on the motif of the traditional Finnish Kalevala song. It starts with the first words in the Kalevala: Mieleni minun tekevi, aivoni ajattelevi. There is also a Latin version of the text based on the translation by Tuomo Pekkanen.
