Matti A. Pitkänen : Reindeer boy

This book is about a 12-years-old Lapp boy Ari and his little sister Sari, who live among the reindeer in Finnish Lapland. Their father is a reindeer herdsman and both he and their mother want them to learn the traditional working methods and ways that they will need later on in life. Ari already accompanies his father on long trips to look after the reindeer, takes care of his own calves, can throw the Lapp lasso and is preparing to grow from a reindeer boy into a real reindeer herdsman.
