The International Institute of Communications (IIC) had its Annual Conference in Helsinki in September 1982. 260 persons from forty countries participated in the Conference. This book consists of the Conference Papers and of an article by John Howkins, 'Communications in Finland'.
The book is dedicated to Jean d'Arcy, President of the IIC in 1975-1983. He was a much appreciated expert in communications and the Father of Eurovision. He also created the concept 'Right to Communicate'.
