This collection showcases Einojuhani Rautavaara's vocal music from the late 1970s to the 1990s, featuring operatic works and duets set to texts by Finnish and international poets.

The vocal works of Einojuhani Rautavaara (1928-2016) were inspired by poets both Finnish and foreign, but above all Rainer Maria Rilke. Rautavaara has himself written the texts for some of his songs.
Volume 2 covers the period from the late 1970s to the 1990s and includes songs from the operas Thomas and Aleksis Kivi. Also a duet cycle Almanac for Two is included.
