Lorca-sarjan ensimmäinen versio oli lapsi/nuorisokuoroversio, koska se osallistui Espoon kaupungin sävellyskilpailuun juuri tällaisille kokoonpanoille vuonna 1973. Teksti oli suomenkielinen käännös. Pian sen jälkeen Rautavaara teki sekakuoroversion alkukielisenä.
