Rautavaaran ensimmäinen sinfonia on sävelletty vuonna 1955 Yhdysvalloissa. Säveltäjä teki teokseen kaksi suurta muutosta, ensin vuonna 1988 ja toisen kerran vuonna 2003 jolloin hän lisäsi sinfoniaan Poetico-osan.
Rautavaaran ensimmäinen sinfonia on sävelletty vuonna 1955 Yhdysvalloissa. Säveltäjä teki teokseen kaksi suurta muutosta, ensin vuonna 1988 ja toisen kerran vuonna 2003 jolloin hän lisäsi sinfoniaan Poetico-osan.
