Zacharias Topelius : Dramatik
Zacharias Topelius was a pioneering figure in Finnish theatre, with plays that shaped the nation's stage tradition. The Dramatik collection features seven influential works, some internationally acclaimed.
Topelius var en av de första finländska författare som skrev för teaterscenen, och han gjorde det med stor framgång. Hans debutpjäs Efter femtio år 1851 blev en succe också i Sverige. Finlands första opera Kung Carls jagt med libretto av Topelius och musik av Fredrik Pacius blev en märkeshändelse. Dramat om Regina von Emmeritz framfördes flitigt på svenska och finska scener också under 1900-talet och blev film. Till invigningen av Nya Teatern vid Skillnaden 1860 skrev Topelius sagospelet Prinsessan av Cypern med motiv ur Kalevala. Dramatik innehåller sju verk och utkommer i tryck och digitalt.
